Matt's lip

I was busy at home doing stuff when I got a call from Matthew's teacher that he was hurt. She said he and Ryan (my brother) were playing outside and that Matt got hit in the mouth with the end of a jump rope. Jeremy had just stopped by the house when I got the call so he went with me to the school. I walked into the nurses office and saw Matthew holding ice on his mouth. He said that he was running holding the jump rope, Ryan was running next to him and accidentally stepped on the other end of the jump rope. The end Matt was holding hit him in the mouth and cut his lip. I decided to take him to the urgent care because I wasn't sure if he would need stitches. We were there two hours just to be told by the doctors it would heal on it's own. I felt better that I went but still 2 hours had gone by. The next morning it had scabbed over and looked like nothing really. I did what I thought was best and if I hadn't taken him I would have wondered if I should have. I'm sure I am in for much more having a boy but I wouldn't trade him in for anything. I love my handsome, smart, funny little guy!

Nat's tooth

For a few days Natalie's tooth has been super loose. She has barely let me look at it, won't let me touch it. Yesterday we were at the doctors office in the waiting room and she was sticking it outside her lip. I told her to pull it out but she refused. When we got home she was messing with it again. Matt & I told her "you need to go pull it out." As you can see in the picture it was hanging by a thread. I took the picture & she went into the bathroom to look at it. Matthew & I were talking and she comes running into the room yelling "I pulled it out." We couldn't believe it.

She wanted to lose the tooth at school so she could go to the nurses office and get a tooth necklace. They put the childs tooth in it so they can take it home without losing it. Oh well, maybe if she wiggles the other one enough she will lose it before school gets out for the summer. So now she has this huge gap and she looks so big. Haha. She already lost her two bottom baby teeth and got her adult teeth in but it's different when kids lose the top. I just wish my kids had lost their two top teeth at the same time, I love that big holey grin but oh well. It's still cute!

Fishing & Root Beer

Saturday morning Jeremy took the kids (including my brother Ryan) fishing with the cub scouts. They waited, waited & waited and didn't catch a thing. My brother saw a fish right by the bank real close to him and told Jeremy he was going to grab it. Jeremy reminded him fishing is about catching the fish on the hook not with your hands, haha. In the end they had a good time and that's all that really matters.

After dropping Ryan off Jeremy and the kids returned home. Natalie has been bugging us to do this kit with her that makes root beer so Jeremy agreed to help her. They pulled out all the pieces and read the directions. They mixed up the ingredients, added some ice and poured the root beer into the cool cup that came with the kit. Natalie took one sip and... well the photo says it all! Guess she won't be making anymore of that kit, well for herself at least. Haha!

Beach Bums

Thursday Jeremy stayed home from work. When the kids got out of school we took them to the beach. They love playing in the sand, jumping the waves and discovering the things that get washed up from the tide. When you first get on the beach one of the first things you notice is this big tree, right there on the beach. It's so neat looking & it's branches are great for posing on. A lot of people that go to Grandview beach take pictures on or in front of it. As soon as we got there Matthew started climbing it. I took the opportunity to snap some pics. I just love the way the brances look, all curvy and going in different directions. There is one long branch that goes almost horizontal. The way the branch looks makes me think the tree is just saying "come and sit with me."

I just love the beach, especially this one. It's so peaceful and soothing. I would love for the sand to be white and the water to be blue but hey, I'm just thankful we live near the beach at all. Last summer I took the kids often and it felt like I was on vacation, it was so great. I'm looking forward to going there again this summer, just love having a nice tan and the great times we enjoy there. Jeremy was watching the kids play so of course I had to take pictures of him. He turned around and started telling me not to take anymore and I got this great shot of him. He is so handsome and we have so much fun together especailly lately. With my fathers passing I have really leaned on him a lot lately and it has brought us closer. He is a great husband and father, I couldn't ask for more. The four of us just love the beach and it's a great place to spend time together.

I wanted to take a picture of me & Jeremy so as usual I had him pose with me a few times to try to get a good shot. He stopped playing with the kids one time when I called him over and he thought it would be funny if he wiped his wet hand on my forehead. None of the pics of the two of us turned out that great but I think these two shots are pretty funny, they show his personality. You can tell in the second picture that I'm holding in a laugh. We had a great time and enjoyed our time together as usual.

Photoshop fun

Today I was messing around with Photoshop, trying to make a quick cover for my organizer. I ended up finishing a layout I have been tinkering with and resized it to fit my organizer. I then made another layout for the back. They both turned out pretty cute so I saved them as pages too. I used a kit called Express Yourself by Ronna Penner of Scrapadelic.com. Just wanted to share.

Scrapping, crop, scrapbooking...

Call it what you want but I LOVE it! I don't do much of it anymore because I feel I have so many other things I "need" to be doing. My sister in law has turned me on to Digital Scrapbooking. I like it because I don't have to worry about making space on my desk, looking for my supplies, spending money, making a mess, someone touching my stuff & many more things. I just have been tinkering around with it on my computer, no major effort has been made yet. I am still learning how to use photoshop. I thought I would post my first digital scrapbook layout to share. I wish I had more time to scrapbook in general but for now I will just enjoy the few minutes I get to play around with it on the computer. Let me know what you think!

Dreams

I was very tired this morning so after I took the kids to school I layed down on the coach for a bit. I had a dream and 2 times in my dream I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned to see what it was. It was my Dad. He started talking to me and I could see him as if he was really there. The first time I was shocked but the second time I talked to him like he was standing next to me. I don't remember a lot of details of the dream but I remember he told me he was in pain and I thought that he wouldn't be. Maybe it was me remembering him the way he was. I do remember him in the car with me telling me directions. We talked and I asked him questions. I think I dreamt about him because he has been so heavy on my mind. I love and miss him and do wish I could talk to him again. Maybe through my dreams I really can.

A great birthday!

Today is my 29th birthday. Last night both my kids made last minute plans to stay the night with friends so Jeremy and I scrambled to find somewhere to go. I asked my friend Susan if there was a place locally similar to Dave & Busters. I had seen their commercials and it looked like so much fun but when I looked online they didn't have one in our area. She told me there was a place called Jillian's in Norfolk. We dropped the kids off and headed across the water. We decided to eat dinner first in the restaurant part of Jillian's. The food was really good and the service was great. We had a beautiful view of the water from where we sat. After dinner we went to the game side and started having a blast. We rode a jet ski ride, water rafting ride, bowled, shot dinosaurs in a jurassic park game, played skee ball over and over, etc. It was so much fun, not only were we kid free we were free to be kids. Haha. Usually when Jeremy & I go out we go to dinner and a movie or something but this was different. It was casual and so exciting. I kept saying how much fun it was and Jer said the same. We needed that night so bad, I needed it. To just feel young again and spend time with my husband, it was great. We headed home around 9pm and watched a movie.

Today we woke up to a quiet house and it was past 6:30 am! We took our time to get ready and headed to IHOP for breakfast. Ah their french toast is so good. We went and got the kids and my little brother too and headed over to the Norfolk zoo. It was such a beautiful day out and we all love seeing the animals. When they closed at 5 we headed out, dropped my brother off and fed the kids dinner. Put them into bed and just relaxed watching tv. It was such a nice weekend, I enjoyed my birthday.
