I did it!
So today I took Natalie to her first ballet class at the Betty Smith School of dance where I took dance for 12 years. I was so excited and it was nice to be back "home." If feels weird being the one dropping someone off though I have to admit. Everything seems smaller than I remember it...haha. Ms. Smith was my tap teacher but when she retired her daughter Sherry, took over the studio. When I went a few weeks ago to sign Natalie up I talked with Sherry and she showed us around. Natalie wasn't sure she wanted to take dance lessons but said yes after the tour. So as I was leaving Sherry says "the adult tap class is going to be Wednesdays at 8pm." I said "I don't know if I can jump anymore" and she said to me "oh you would be advanced trust me." It made me feel so good. I thought about it and talked it over with Jeremy. I told him I would love to go back, I have missed it. I'm tearing up just thinking about it. So I thought for a few days and today when I took Natalie I asked if they were still accepting people and if they had room in that class. She said yes so I told her I would like to sign up. I can't believe it, I did it! I'm going to be in tap again. I'm so excited, what do I wear? HAHA!

Jeremy's crafty!
Today we were doing some work around the house trying to finish up some projects. I went outside to see what Jeremy was up to and there was what looked like a wooden box. I asked him and he said he was trying to figure out how to build a drawer (cause we need a few). I laughed and said "well I bet you could build a shadow box too." I went back in the house and continued what I was doing. A few minutes later he comes in with a shadow box. I was so impressed. She he went back outside and I took care of the kids, did stuff around the house, etc. While I was on the phone I went outside to put something in the garage and I see him building something that looks like a little house. He brought it inside and showed it to Natalie. As most of you know Natalie loves horses so I said "Oh I bet you could make a stable, that would be so cool huh Natalie?!" So he made one! My husband is so talented, I'm so impressed!

Bay Days
Every Labor Day weekend we have an event here in Hampton called "Bay Days." I've gone to it for as long as I can remember. We love to go and take the kids to the craft areas and to look at all the craft vendors as well. The kids really enjoy it and ask a million times if they can go on the rides which are very expensive as you probably already guessed. So we hit all the free stuff they had for kids and Matthew used some of his money to go on the rock wall. He LOVED it, he wanted to do it over and over. Here's a few pictures of him, our little boy looking so grown. Jeremy and I were almost in tears watching him climb to the top. We were so proud.

The kids posed for a picture, Jeremy helped them build a boat at the Home Depot tent and the kids saw some Pirates. It was a nice day!

Our little boy is...

So today I picked up Matthew from school and he says "look." He smiles big and I see he is missing a tooth. I was shocked, didn't know that tooth was loose enough to fall out yet. He said the nurse pulled it, funny considering he wouldn't let anyone near his loose teeth before and now he lets the school nurse pull one out?! So he's excited, says to me "I'm getting $5 again!" Yes the tooth fairy brought him $5 for his first tooth, must be rich.....haha. I tried to tell the tooth fairy that was too much but apparently "they" think it's the right amount. I sure do remember when I was little the tooth fairy leaving change, lucky if I got dollars. The tooth fairy must have hit the lottery or something...haha! Matthew has one more tooth that is loose, not sure when it will fall out. Our little boy is Growing up!

First day of school

Matthew is now in 2nd grade! He wasn't excited, he was a little sad summer vacation is over. He has alot of friends in his class from the last two years he has gone to Cary so I think he will be ok. His teacher this year is Mrs. Crawford. This morning she was showing him how to choose what he wants for lunch by placing his peg on the lunch choice board. School is old news to him now so us taking pictures and waving bye is over rated to him.....haha. He's looking at us like ok leave already.

Natalie is in Pre-K! Wow, I'm kidless! Only till noon though. My baby is in school, what to do? She doesn't know anyone in her class but was very excited to go. She immediately went over and started playing with playdough next to the teacher assistant. We tried to get a few last pictures which she wasn't happy about. She was ready for us to go too. At least we know she won't be upset, she will enjoy herself and do some fun things.
So I'm home now writing this and putting up the pictures, alone. I am going to take the time they are at school to run errands and go to the gym. Maybe even work on my scrapbooks some. It will be a nice break and I will be looking forward to them coming home so they can tell me all the things they did during the day. Our kids are growing up!
Fishing Sunday
Sunday a friend of mine Lara & her family invited me, Jer and the kids out on their boat. I was very scared at first because in the past I have gotten sea sick. I prepared by taking medicine before leaving; better safe than sorry. I loved it at first, the boat was going fast and it was so nice out. Once we stopped it started getting hot and everyone started fishing. At first I wasn't into it at all, had no desire to fish. Jeremy needed me to hold his pole while he did something. Meanwhile my friend caught a fish, I was so excited I told Jer that now I wanted to fish. Lara's husband Ed was nice enough to let me use his pole since he was busy. He was in charge of taking the fish off the hooks, putting more bait on and throwing my line out since I didn't know how, haha. I caught my first fish, then I was hooked! I was so excited I wanted to catch more. I caught 5 fish but threw back 2 cause they were small. Jeremy caught a fish and Matthew caught one too! Everyone had a great time and now Jeremy and the kids want to buy a boat. We need to get new polls for the kids before we go out again. It was a blast.
