Busch Gardens with family
All summer we have been going to busch gardens but the end of the season is fast approaching so we decided to go and meet my sister and her kids up there October 14th. Matthew & Natalie love hanging out with their cousins Hunter & Sawaar. The kids & Jeremy had a great time going on the rides. Amber & I just enjoyed hanging out. I don't ride rides anyway.
We all got on the bumper cars, that was a blast. After that we went to a few of their halloscream attractions. We went through a maze where we saw a crazy looking thing that was really tall. A person on stilts I would guess. Then we went to another part of the park and saw some "statues." We thought there was something funny about them so we stayed there for a few minutes and then saw one move. We realized it was 2 ladies posing as statues. The last part of the park we went in was a part that has scary clowns and I was looking around everywhere scared they were gonna jump out at me. We only saw a few and they didn't do anything. I was glad the night was over because I don't like that kind of stuff very much. The whole day was great, we will definitely have to go together again next year!

Newport News Fall Festival
Every year we go to the Fall Festival. They have booths with things people made that are for sale, entertainment, food, animals & free kids activities. The kids love to see & pet the farm animals, the farmer even shows how he shaves the sheeps coat off. They usually have old cars parked for people to admire too. The kids love going to make the crafts, I love to go see all the stuff for sale. We let the kids play on the playground for a bit too. It was a nice day except Jeremy lost my favorite sunglasses. :( Haha.

Neptune Festival
September 30th we went to Virginia Beach for the Neptune Festival. We really enjoy going to see the sand sculptures every year. We walked around and looked at the booths where people sell stuff also. The kids love the beach and it was a beautiful day. We look forward to going again next year.

Walking with Dinosaurs!!!!
We took the kids to the Walking with Dinosaurs show Wednesday night September 26th. They loved it! It was so neat, I'm so glad we went. It was unlike any other show we have ever seen. Matthew has loved dinosaurs since he was 2 and his passion for them only gets stronger as he gets older. He knows their names, what they looked like, what they ate, everything. He can even imitate how some of them moved. This show was so realistic. I have to admit I was a bit nervous when the T-Rex came out. Natalie likes dinosaurs also, mostly because of her brothers passion for them. After this show all 4 of us have a great respect for dinosaurs. The best part of the show was at the end the Mom T-Rex would roar so loud and then the baby T-Rex would copy her with his little tiny baby voice. Over and over again they roared and we all laughed. I took tons of pictures of course so here are some of the best ones.  |   |

First Day of School

The first day of school was exciting in so many ways. This year the kids are going to a new school, Phillips Elementary. It's the elementary school I went to and my little brother goes to now. It was also Natalie's first day of kindergarten. There are a few kids in Natalie's class that she was in class with at Community Presbyterian where she went to Pre-K. Matthew was excited but nervous to go to a new school. He has already made some friends & his grades are wonderful so I think he's settled in nicely. It's so nice to have them in the same school this year. I'm glad they are going to Phillips, it's such a nice school.

Summer Overview
We had a very busy summer. We went to the beach alot, to Busch Gardens, the pool, fishing and so much more. Since we were so busy I didn't have time to post on the blog so I made a slideshow of all the great things we did. I started with the end of the school year going all the way threw to the day before school started this fall. Get comfortable because it's long! Enjoy! | |
