Thanksgiving
For Thanksgiving this year we went to a friend, Tony's house for dinner. I wasn't feeling well so we didn't stay long. I forgot to take pictures so we took some when we got home. The kids looked very cute and it was nice to have a break from cooking.
Our friends Sean & Jen were also at Tony's with their son Colin and their new baby girl Alison. I got to hold her, she was so sweet. It's strange now that our kids are so old and independant, holding a baby is foreign to me now. I am use to eating at my moms house with my family so it wasn't really Thanksgiving like I'm use to but it was good. I definitely missed being "home."

Animals & Monster trucks
Natalie & I met Matthew on his field trip today. We had gone to this museum before but the kids always love it. The trip started in a classroom where a lady taught the kids about animals and showed some. My favorite was the opossum, I thought she was very cute!Monster Trucks
Later that night Jeremy and Matthew went to the Monster Truck Jam. It was their boy night, just like Natalie & I had our girl day at the Disney Princess on Ice. They had a great time and took some good pictures.

Our little ballerina
Last night we went to Natalie's ballet class for watch week. It was great to watch her because a year ago she was in dance class at another place and wouldn't dance unless she was holding the teachers hand. She was so cute. In the video (Natalie is in pink in the middle of the screen) the teacher is finishing up a game they play called the "washing machine game." They act out how to do laundry. Then they did a little dance they have been learning. The teacher asked the girls to practice their jumping so I took a picture of Natalie during her turn.

They did a little dance in a circle, the kids have a great time and the teacher was very good with them.

My OTHER job
I volunteer at Matthew's school when I can. Last year I was the PTA secretary and also helped with any programs that needed extra adults. This year I'm the RIF cordinator, that's Reading Is Fundamental a program that gives books to the children 3 times a year for FREE! RIF has an agreement with a book company to buy the books for $1 each. The PTA pays $1 per book to RIF so it's affordable for the schools. I am very honored to have this position this year, it's very exciting. My job is to pick a theme for each event (December, March & May) and make it as fun as possible for the kids. My first distribution is coming soon and I have great plans. I will post more after because I dare not jinx it! My other contribution this year is I'm doing the showcase (bulletin board behind glass windows across from the office). I plan out the display and put it up, sometimes making the items myself. So far I did a board in September with the theme of "When I grow up." I asked Matthew's first grade class to draw pictures of what they want to be when they grow up and then I mounted each on black paper making them really pop on the purple background I picked. I also made little pictures of things that related to what they picked. Here's a picture.
For October and November I put up a Fall themed board "Fall In Love With Cary" so it could stay for awhile. It isn't easy planning and doing the board. I made the scarecrow myself, lots of work but definitely worth it. I took pictures today because the board will be changed very soon for December. For that board I'm having the fourth grade make stuff to be displayed. I had the idea that this year it would be really neat to have the kids involved so it's all about them. Here's some pictures of the current board. I will post pictures of the December board once it's done, it's going to be very cute

I got a job!

So Thursday I had this random thought of applying for a job at a photo studio. Friday morning after I took both kids to school I got ready and went down to JcPenney's to apply. The manager was there so when I was done filling out the application she asked if I had time to do an interview. We chatted for a few minutes about the job and what hours I could work, then she said she would probably hire me and would call me that night to let me know. I heard nothing so Saturday I decided to call her to let her know I was available more hours than I thought since I found people to watch the kids. I left a message on the machine and left it at that. Sunday afternoon I was being lazy around the house when the phone rings and Jeremy says "it's JcPenney's." I was shocked, I thought for sure she wasn't going to hire me since she didn't call Friday and at the latest Saturday. I answer the phone and she asks when I would be available next week IF she was to hire me. We went over my availability one more time and then she says she IS hiring me. She called me back later to give me my schedule, Tuesday 9:15-1:45, Wednesday 10-1:45, Thursday 10-1:45 and Saturday 10-7. I'm really excited but at the same time I'm scared. Will I be able to handle it? How will I be able to take care of the kids, drop off and pick up Jeremy, cook dinner every night, go to the gym and still do my duties at the school that I obligated myself to do?! Well it's worth a try. Wish me luck!

Matthew looses another tooth!

Matthew lost his front tooth, the other one! His first adult front tooth is almost all the way in. This is his third tooth lost. I remember back 3 years ago when he was in Pre-K and he was so sad asking me "When will I lose a tooth?" because all his friends were losing them. Now he has this big front tooth and the other coming in. They get really loose and he won't pull them or let anyone else pull them out. Actually he lost this tooth about a week ago and still hasn't put it out for the tooth fairy. We all keep forgetting...haha. Wow, he is changing so fast. My little boy is so handsome and I love this picture of him laying in the leaves. I love to spend time with him, listen to him talk about dinosaurs and when he was a baby. He makes me smile, he makes me laugh, he gives me so much joy. I wish I had more time to spend with my little boy.
Halloween

Natalie has ballet class Monday nights. This monday the kids wore their halloween costumes to class. I took a few pictures of Natalie and her friends. They were all so cute! The next two weeks are watch week so we can go and watch her dance, I'm looking forward to it.

Natalie's school does "Country Days" instead of celebrating Halloween. Everyone dresses up in cowgirl/boy hats, overalls, jeans, boots, etc. Natalie wore the same clothes she wore for Halloween last year (she was a cowgirl) and we made scarecrow cookies for her to take to her class party. We also made treat bags for the kids. I volunteer at Matthew's school quite a bit. This week I was picked as a shining star of the week so I took pictures of the bulletin board that displayed my picture. After school I got the kids into their costumes. We picked up Jeremy and got some dinner then headed to my friend Lara's house. There was a big group of us all going together around her neighborhood. It was so much fun, the kids had a blast and got tons of candy. I put it all in a bag and weighed it, 10 lbs! Yes, 10 lbs. of candy! Well there goes our diet...haha. After we left Lara's we stopped by my friend Tonia's house for a minute. Her son Jordan plays soccer with Natalie and just so happened to also be Peter Pan this year. They were just so cute together and yes my son has some kind of thing about putting the knife in front of his face when having his picture taken. Silly boy.
