FLOR-I-DA

I took a trip with 4 friends to Florida for a week. It was beautiful and nice to have a break but I will say never again am I going on a trip with a bunch of girls. Haha. I got to do things I never thought I would do. We went jet skiing, parasailing in Key West & got a tattoo! We went to Miami to see if we could meet the guys from Miami Ink. To our surprise the shop has been turned into a store and they opened a new shop a few doors down. We went to the new shop called "Love Hate" and was sad to find out none of the guys were there. Two of them were in Ireland. So we went shopping a little and then had dinner at a place called Mangos. It was crazy, all the employees were dressed sexy and there was a live band. It was a fun week but I was glad to get home to see Jeremy and the kids. I hope one day I can go back with them!

So much going on, so little time!

So Matthew wants a ferrett! He has been bugging us since we took a trip to the pet store where he fell in love with one. We told him if he could take care of his dog for one week without being reminded we would talk about getting him one. On the 7th he brought his lego creation into the living room for me to see. It said "can I have a ferreet," spelt wrong cause he misunderstood me as I spelt it out. It was cute but he didn't do as we asked so we decided against it. I felt really bad but I know the burden would fall onto me & I have enough to take care of right now.

The kids and I lived at the beach last summer so we were excited for school to end this year so we could spend a lot of time there again. On the 11th we met our friends Shawn, Parker & Reed for a day at the beach. The kids had a great time playing in the water and sand with their friends. We had lunch and just soaked up the sun. It was such a great time. We love our friends!

On the 15th the kids made funny creatures with Matt's knex toys. They were so creative and cute I had to take pictures. The 18th I took the kids to Busch Gardens while Jeremy was at work. I'm leaving in the morning for my Florida trip so I wanted to spend as much time with them as possible and have fun doing it! They played in the water area, rode some rides and got some much needed energy out. It was fun but really hot. We really have had a lot going on lately so I thought I would catch you up!

Independance Day

We went to Williamsburg this year for the fourth of July. As you arrive, there are people directing you to park in this huge field. I always hate that we have to park there because it was a battlefield during the Battle of Yorktown in 1781. I don't feel right parking where so many men died. So after a long walk we made it over to the area where everything was happening. We walked through and looked at the crafts for sale then in the horrible heat went back up this huge hill to find a nice spot to sit and watch the parade. It was good but too short in my opinion. I was sad the different branches of military were not in it this year like years past but that is probably because so many of them are in Iraq. The kids enjoyed it and it was worth the long walk. We didn't stay too much longer because it was so hot. Afterwards we went to the beach to watch the fireworks but with the threat of rain we weren't in the mood to deal with the crowd. As we got home we saw & heard fireworks going off in a few different spots. We tried to get a good view but were disappointed. I really wish we could have seen them, it's always my favorite part. Looking forward to next year!

Our summer so far

We went to the airshow Sunday. We go every year. The kids love to see the airplanes and if it wasn't so hot out they would enjoy it more. While Jeremy & I watched the planes fly the kids played with their new toys under the bleachers. The show was good but I was just exhausted from the long week of dance recital. I was ready to go but Jeremy really wanted to see the Red Arrows. They are the British Royal Airforce!

And here's a video. They were great, best airshow I had ever seen. I wish I had more space on my camera I would have taken lots more pics and video!

So to keep the kids busy this summer I did some research a month ago on what was going on in our area. I filled up our calendar with stuff and we have done some fun things. Every Wednesday at our library they have a show of some sort for the kids, this week it was a puppet show. Then we went Friday to Bluebird Gap Farm for their storytelling show. It ended up being the puppets so I let the kids play. Some of our friends came to so we all hung out. Yesterday I decided to take the kids to the YMCA pool but first Jeremy needed me to bring him a map book. We met him and hung out while he ate lunch then we went off to the pool for some fun. It was funny to see him driving a UPS truck, the kids got a big kick out of it.

Sunday Natalie said she wanted to get her hair cut short. I told her if she did we could donate it to lock of love. I showed her their website and she said no she wanted to keep her hair. I asked her again Monday and she went back and forth. When we got back from the pool I asked and she said yes she wanted to get it cut and showed me how short. We all got showered and dressed and I made an appointment. We walked in and the lady cut it off, all of it! It's so cute and so far Natalie says she likes it. Oh well there's no going back if she doesn't. Haha. I think it's better for her to have a break from all that hair anyway.
