My family is everything!

When I was little I mostly saw my mom's side of the family because I lived closest to them. Over the years I would see my Dad's side but not often enough. See on my mom's side I had 1 aunt, 2 uncles & my Nana. That's it. But on my dad's side I had 1 uncle, 3 aunts, Granny, Paw Paw and 11 cousins. I remember going down to NC to visit and hanging out with them. It always seemed the ones closest in age had closer bonds but I did stay with my younger cousins at times which made me feel closer to them. I went down to NC a few times in the last couple of years to see my family. It's crazy to see my cousins all grown up and some of them with their own kids. It's great to see my aunts and uncle too! They are all so close and I'm so glad. I wish my moms family was like that. I love getting to see my Granny & Paw Paw, they are the most caring people. My Paw Paw, watch out for him. He has such a personality and I just enjoy spending time with him so much. He use to tease me when I was younger but I think it's just because he liked me so much, haha. I always felt loved by my family in NC, just wish I could have seen them and spent more time with them.

My dad & I have had a broken relationship through the years but have had a close one the last 5-6 years. I enjoyed going to his house and watching him show the kids his stuff. He would let them help him feed his fish, show them things on his computer & show them lots of old pictures of me when I was young. I remember one time I sat with him and looked through some old photos. We talked about the years past and he told me things we did and places we went. Some that I remembered we chatted about. My most recent trip there I asked him some about his childhood and about his family tree. I think things happen for a reason and I'm so thankful for that time. I have those memories to hold on to. I'm sorry we didn't have a constant relationship throughout my life but I am very thankful for the last 5 years I did have with him.

Ever since I moved to Las Vegas in 2000, away from ALL my family I have been very thankful for the time I have with each and every member. I want to see them, I want to talk with them. It is very important to me that my kids grow up knowing their family and create great memories with them too. I know no family is perfect and we all make mistakes but I hope every single person in my family (moms & dads side) know how I feel about each and every one of them and they know I am here if they ever need me. My family is everything!
