dance recital
A full circle moment, the day I took Natalie for dance pictures. I had always been the one to get makeup put on, costume fixed, pose for the camera. On picture day in the dressing room I'm fixing Natalie's makeup and it occurs to me, for the first time I'm the Mom getting the child ready. It was such an important moment to me. I took dance for 12 years and here I was getting MY daughter ready for her FIRST dance recital pictures. I am so glad Natalie has an interest in dance, if she didn't that would be ok but for now she does.
Thursday night at the dress rehearsal it was so real, seeing them all lined up ready to go back stage. One of the teachers said to me "you know how this goes so I am depending on you." It was so strange to be a back stage mom and to not go on stage myself. I was so excited for her though, hoping she wouldn't freak out when she got up there. They all did great, they looked so beautiful! My Mom, Nana & Ryan all came to see her. It was so neat.
The recital was Friday & Saturday night so everyone came when they could. Friday night our babysitter and family friend Denae came to watch. Afterwards she got flowers and was so excited to see the other dancers. Her favorite dance was the tap dancers dressed as the pink panther. Saturday night Matthew, Aunt Amber & Daddy all watched proudly. It was so great seeing out little ballerina out there!
