Bye bye bunnies...

The other day the kids and I went outside to check on the bunnies. I used a stick to gently move the grass from the hole so we could see them. All of a sudden one of the babies jumped out of the hole and hopped half way through our yard. I told the kids to go inside quickly and quietly hoping the bunny would go back to the hole. Later Jeremy checked and he said there were only 2 bunnies. So yesterday morning he checked again and said all the bunnies were gone. We went out for a bit, when we got home Jeremy yelled my name from the back door. I went outside and he showed me 1 baby bunny sitting under our siding in our back yard. It's still out there now and it's so cute. Jeremy put some celery out there for it just in case it's hungry. It's so fat and furry, I think she wants to stay here with us. Haha.

Baby bunnies
A few weeks ago Jeremy & I decided to give the baby a nickname until we decide on a real name. We decided on the name "Bunny." Ironically last week I was cutting grass and saw something brownish moving in the grass area next to me. A few minutes before I had mowed over it and decided it wasn't short enough so I went over it again. I jumped off the mower to see what it was. I first thought it was a mouse cause we have seen them close by. To my surprise it was 3 baby bunnies in a hole. I wasn't sure at first if they were in fact bunnies cause their ears were short so I ran in to do a search on the computer for pictures of baby bunnies. Sure enough I saw a picture of the same exact thing I saw in my yard. We have wild rabbits in the area so it only made since. I went back outside to see if any of them were hurt, lucky enough they weren't. I went over that hole (without knowing it) twice. I guess they were asleep and me mowing the grass woke them up causing one of them to instinctively start hopping. They didn't even have their eyes open yet. I called Jeremy and the SPCA. I was told to just cover over the hole and maybe the mother would come get them. When the kids got home I showed them the bunnies, they were so excited.
Later that night I got in contact with a lady from a rabbit rescue and she said the mother probably wouldn't move them but she would come after sun down to feed them. Following her directions I put 2 pieces of dental floss in the shape of an x over the grass covering the hole so in the morning we would know if the mother came to feed them. The next morning Jeremy said it was all moved and they were exposed. We knew from that morning on the mom probably wouldn't cover them back up and with the weather we were getting from the hurricane that was coming they would be cold so we went out to check them a few times a day. We weren't sure what to do with Hurricane Hanna coming so Jeremy had the idea of putting a baby pool over the hole but propped it up so the mom could still get to the babies. Now they have their eyes open and I know we will all be sad when they leave but I am so glad they turned out ok and we have had this chance to have 3 guests to watch grow. Ironically also in March we will have 3 total "bunnies" of our own.

Quiet
This morning Jeremy and I took the kids to school for their first day. The school has a policy that you can't walk them down to their classroom the first week. As we walked up to the front they had a line for each grade. I walked Natalie over to the first grade line, she said "I want you to stay." She had just fallen and hurt her knee so she really wanted me then. Jeremy walked Matthew all the way over to the fourth grade line, wow. Fourth grade, my baby isn't a baby anymore huh!? He was one of the shortest in the line, little guy. I walked over and said goodbye to him making sure not to embarrass him. Jeremy left and I hung out for a bit off to the side waiting for my mom and brother to get there. I took his picture and talked to my mom for a minute as he walked in to the school. When I got home it hit me, the kids are at school and it's quiet. Wow, I have to get use to this all over again. Now it's time to find a job!

More summer fun
It feels like we haven't done much the last month because I haven't been feeling good but going through my pictures I realize quite a bit has happened. July 27th Natalie went to see Wall-E for her friend Rhiannon's birthday and got to ride in a stretch hummer! So much fun for the kids. Matt & Natalie went to vacation bible school at my friend Tanya's church the last week of July and had a performance on Friday. They sang songs they had learned throughout the week. They go every summer and enjoy it. August 8th Natalie went to her friend Valerie's party and sleep over. The kids played in the water and had lots of fun. I had a great time especially watching Valerie's mom and Matthew have a water fight. The kids took swim lessons at the Y August 4th thru the 14th. Matthew is a fish in the water but has to practice doing the proper swim techniques. Natalie has always had a great fear of the water but for the last couple of years has become more comfortable through swim lessons at the Y. These two weeks Natalie really progressed and I was so proud of her. She was swimming on her own with her face in the water, floating and even swimming good on her back! She told me she wants to be in the next session of swim lessons.
Natalie loves gymnastics also. She told me in the spring she wanted to take gymnastics over the summer but with me going to Florida I didn't want to sign them up for a bunch of stuff. When I got back it was too late but I did find a week long camp she could go to. She enjoyed it and even got a ribbon for participating. August 16th we went to Matt's cub scout pool party. The 17th we took the kids to the child fair that they have every year. There is lots for the kids to do and it's all free! For 1 week a local museum was free to residents so we went a few times. The first time was August 20th and the kids checked out the candy exhibit. They had the most popular candies through the years in tubes. I know I was ready for some candy after being there awhile. We took Daddy back on the 23rd. We looked at the planes and stuff they also have. Jeremy had never been there so he enjoyed it. I hope the kids enjoyed their summer, I feel guilty I didn't do with them what I usually do because of how I have felt. Maybe in a couple more weeks I won't have this nausea anymore and won't be so tired and we can spend some quality weekends together. I'm sad summers over already.

Our little cheerleader
A few months ago we signed Natalie up for cheerleading with the FoxHill Redskins. She was so excited and couldn't wait to start. While I was in Florida she had her first practice. She told me she didn't like it & I thought oh no here we go again. Half way through last year she decided she didn't like dance and I had to practically drag her there every week. The day after I got back from Florida she had cheer camp. When we got there to pick her up they were giving out the spirit stick and guess who got it? NATALIE! We were so excited and proud. Two days later she had practice again & it was my first time seeing her. She didn't want to go and came over to me the whole hour and a half whining. I told her once the games start she wouldn't have so many practices and she would get to wear her uniform. August 14th she won the spirit stick again! I think they might have been giving it to her to help encourage her cause I didn't see much spirit, haha. The first game was that Saturday and it was also the kickoff to the season. We were there all day in the heat so of course Natalie hated it. The girls didn't even get to wear their uniforms because not all of them were in. The 23rd was the second game and they got to wear them this time. It was only 2 hours long also so I think she liked it better. We just tell her to go cheer and have fun. Hopefully she will get into it cause it wasn't cheap. She looks so cute too!

Exciting news!!!
When I got back from Florida I was just so tired. I know we had a long drive and all but I could not get enough sleep. One day the week after I got back I started feeling nauseous. After talking to my friend Amy I decided to take a pregnancy test and it was positive! That's right we are having a baby. I couldn't wait to tell Jeremy that night and the kids were so excited. We kept it quiet for a few weeks til I got further along and had a chance to see my doctor. I'm due March 13th. We are getting a 3D ultra sound done the end of September, can't wait!

FLOR-I-DA
I took a trip with 4 friends to Florida for a week. It was beautiful and nice to have a break but I will say never again am I going on a trip with a bunch of girls. Haha. I got to do things I never thought I would do. We went jet skiing, parasailing in Key West & got a tattoo! We went to Miami to see if we could meet the guys from Miami Ink. To our surprise the shop has been turned into a store and they opened a new shop a few doors down. We went to the new shop called "Love Hate" and was sad to find out none of the guys were there. Two of them were in Ireland. So we went shopping a little and then had dinner at a place called Mangos. It was crazy, all the employees were dressed sexy and there was a live band. It was a fun week but I was glad to get home to see Jeremy and the kids. I hope one day I can go back with them!
